Teaching about structural change


One way to go about getting the concepts of redistribution of resources and/or structural change over to students is by starting with discussion of a real world example. Last week the move by WesTrac to establish a training centre in Collie WA is a great example. The centre will initially provide training in fit-out and maintenance requirements for the conversion existing Caterpillar trucks to automated vehicles and their operation.

Collie is a town is transitioning from coal mining and coal-powered electricity generation to technology and skills development.
