Entrepreneurs are part of the Year 7 syllabus

Year 7 includes content about the characteristics of entrepreneurs. I think that is great to emphasise young Australian entrepreneurs such as Jodie Fox (Shoes of Prey) or Taj Pabari (Fiftysix). There are plenty of them!

I think that is also good to include entrepreneurs that have established social businesses such as Orange Sky Laundry and Pollinate Energy.

The key is to get the students to look at how these entreprneurs have used the characteristics to establish their business - steer clear of it becoming a biography.

The new Year 7 book, Producing and Consuming, has a topic on entrepreneurs and several learning activities.
